Day Two - March 15th

8:30AM – 9:00AM

Breakfast (Washington Inn Hotel, Alexandra Conference Room)

9:00AM - 9:30AM

VI. Pulling it together: What can we now say, based on our collective experience and learning, about the purpose of learning communities, useful learning methodologies and appropriate forms, integration and resources?

9:30AM - 11:00AM

VII. Application of Learning: Subdivide into two groups, LLC/ILA

LLC Group Discussion:

  • What general organizing principles are emerging for LLC Circles?
  • Should issues of circle structure, leadership and membership be decided by each circle or more centralized?
  • How should circles be supported?
  • How can technology be used most effectively by circles?

ILA Group Discussion

  • Does a learning community model make sense for ILA? How could a learning community model serve ILA’s mission and work?
  • If ILA were to experiment with learning communities, what form should they take and what kind of support do you think they would require?
  • Should the current work of GLC’s related to the conference be separated out from the GLC’s and taken up through some other form?

11:00AM - 11:15AM

Stretch and Short Break

VII. Closing Reflections:

    1. What 1-2 things are you taking away from our collective learning and how can they be incorporated to strengthen our current LC’s/GLC’s?
    2. Using our own experience in this learning lab, what are we learning about collective learning and how to do it better?
